Love comes....

Love comes to you of its own accord,
and the yearning for it cannot be learned in any school.

The Twelve Vows of the Medicine Buddha upon attaining Enlightenment,
according to the Medicine Buddha Sutra are:
To illuminate countless realms with his radiance, enabling anyone to become a Buddha just like him.
To awaken the minds of sentient beings through his light of lapis lazuli.
To provide the sentient beings with whatever material needs they require.
To correct heretical views and inspire beings toward the path of the Bodhisattva.
To help beings follow the Moral Precepts, even if they failed before.
To heal beings born with deformities, illness or other physical sufferings.
To help relieve the destitute and the sick.
To help women who wish to be reborn as men achieve their desired rebirth.
To help heal mental afflictions and delusions.
To help the oppressed be free from suffering.
To relieve those who suffer from terrible hunger and thirst.

Wherever this sutra circulates or wherever there are sentient beings who hold fast to the name of the Medicine Buddha [Yakushi Buddha] and respectfully make offerings to him, whether in villages, towns, kingdoms or in the wilderness, we [the Twelve Generals] will all protect them. We will release them from all suffering and calamities and see to it that all their wishes are fulfilled.

The Heart of Unity...

The 124 000 Prophets who have streamed from the Heart of Unity are the one light of the one religion of the one worship of the one God by the one humanity in the one creation. The dazzling diversity that blossoms within Divine Unity, never disturbing this Unity, always clearly expresses oneness. There is only one.

Grandfather,
Sacred one,
Teach us love, compassion,
and honor.
That we may heal the earth
And heal each other.
-- Ojibway Prayer

Healing Power of the Green - by Lisa Thiel

LORD my God, I called to you for help, and you healed me.
--Psalm 30:2--

He said to her, "Daughter, your faith has healed you. Go in peace and be freed from your suffering."
--Mark  5:34--

Healing by Sami Yusuf

Hearts in the hand of another heart and in God’s hand are all hearts
قلب بين يدي قلب و بيد الله كل قلب
An eye takes care of another eye and from God’s eye nothing hides
عين ترعى عينا .. وعين الله ترعى، و لا شيء عنه يخفى
Seek only to give and you’ll receive
إسع نحوالعطاء… و ستلقى و تعطى
So, heal and you will be healed
(from Healing by Sami Yusuf)

BE AT PEACE
by Aldo Kraas

Be at peace angels from heaven
Be at peace mother
Be at peace my friends
Be at peace my reverend
Be at peace my God
Be at piece my saints
Be at peace birds
Be at peace Mother Nature
Be at peace sea
Be at peace farmers
Be at peace little baby
Be at peace fisherman
Be at peace moon when you shine at night
Stars be at peace also when you shine at night
Birds be at peace when you fly in the sky during the day

Aho Mitakyue Oyasin
We are all related

People, We have created you all male and female
and have made you nations and tribes
so that you would recognize each other.
The most honorable among you in the sight of God
 is the most pious of you.
God is All-knowing and All-aware.
-- Quran 49:13 --

Our task must be to free ourselves...
by widening our circle of compassion to embrace all living creatures
and the whole of nature and its beauty.
-- Albert Einstein --

“The indigenous understanding has its basis of spirituality
in a recognition of the interconnectedness and interdependence
of all living things, a holistic and balanced view of the world.
All things are bound together. All things connect.
What happens to the Earth happens to the children of the earth.
Humankind has not woven the web of life; we are but one thread.
Whatever we do to the web, we do to ourselves.”

The gift of silence

When the lips are closed,
then the heart begins to speak;
when the heart is silent,
then the soul blazes up,
bursting into flame,
and this illuminates the whole of life.

--Hazrat Inayat Khan--

An old Sufi tradition advises us to speak
only after our words have managed
to pass through four gates.

At the first gate, we ask ourselves,
"Are these words true?"
If so, we let them pass on; if not, back they go.

At the second gate we ask; "Are they necessary?"
At the third gate we ask; "Are they beneficial?"
and at the fourth gate, we ask, "Are they kind?"

If the answer to any of these is no,
then what you are about to say should be left unsaid.

Translation:
The state of the faithful cannot be described.
Anyone who describes it shall regret the attempt.
No paper, no pen, no scribe, can record the state of the faithful.
Such is the name of the immaculate lord.
Only one who has faith comes to know such a state of mind. (12)
The faithful have intuitive intelligence.
The faithful know about all the worlds.
The faithful shall never be struck across their face.
The faithful shall not have to go with the messenger of death.
Such is the name of the immaculate lord.
Only one who has faith comes to know such a state of mind. (13)
The path of the faithful shall never be obstructed.
The faithful shall depart with honor and respect.
The faithful do not follow empty religious rituals.
The faithful are firmly bound to the dharma.
Such is the name of the immaculate lord.
Only one who has faith comes to know such a state of mind. (14)
The faithful find the door of liberation.
The faithful uplift and redeem their family and relations.
The faithful are saved, and carried across with the sikhs of the guru.
The faithful, O Nanak, do not wander around begging.
Such is the name of the immaculate lord;
Only one who has faith comes to know such a state of mind. (15)

The Plurality of Spiritual Moods

To illustrate the plurality of spiritual moods or sacred traditions, RamaKrishna told this parable. The Hindus call that which quenches our thirst 'jal', Muslims call it 'pani', the English call it 'water'. Similarly, each brings a container that is a product of a different culture, and yet they all draw from exactly the same source of refreshment. The clear water of Consciousness, with no shape of its own, perfectly fills the cultural receptacles. Even this analogy could mislead, however, if we concluded that Consciousness is a substance separate from us or from various receptacles. All is Consciousness. As RamaKrishna expresses it:"God alone is."

Gayatri Mantra

Blessings of the One Light to you!

 In his book, Sadhana, Sri Swami Shivananda wrote this about the Gayatri Mantra,

"It is universally applicable, for it is nothing
but an earnest prayer for Light,
addressed to the Supreme Almighty Spirit."

THE GAYATRI MANTRA

Om bhūr-bhuvaḥ svaḥ,
ŧaŧ-saviŧur-vareṇ'yam,
bhargo đevasya đhīmahi,
đhiyo yo naḥ pracho-đayāŧ.

* * *

We meditate on the glory of the Creator;
Who has created the Universe;
Who is worthy of Worship;
Who is the embodiment of Knowledge and Light;
Who is the remover of all Sin and Ignorance;
May He enlighten our Intellect.
